How to Use Italics on a Blog

Italics are used to emphasize a word or phrase. You can use italics in a blog post the same way you would in a book or magazine article. Most blogging platforms, including Wordpress, Blogger and LiveJournal have a rich text editor that includes an "italic" button. You can also use the HTML italics tag in the HTML editor to create the same effect. The letters will slant slightly to the left when viewed in a Web browser.
