How to Completely Close Things on a Mac
If you are unaccustomed to working with a Mac, you might not be sure about how to completely close files, Finder windows or applications. For example, if you click one button on a window, the file closes completely, but if you click a different button, the window disappears and minimizes to the Dock. When a window is minimized, you could mistakenly think that it was closed when it actually is merely hidden. You can easily close windows and applications on your Mac as well as close down the computer completely.
