Press a handful of snow together with both hands, then roll the ball across the ground to gather more snow for the torso of your animal. Roll the snowball until it reaches the size you desire for your animal.
-
2
Roll another snowball for the head. Generally, the head is slightly smaller than the torso. Adjust the sizes as necessary depending on the type of animal you plan to create.

3
Gather snow into oblong shapes for the legs and arms, if your animal has them.
-
4
Mount the head, arms and legs to the torso by rubbing and pressing the snow together to connect the parts.

5
Carve a face, body features and shape the overall figure of the animal using a shovel or screwdriver and a brush.

Tips & Warnings
Snow animals stick together best with heavy, wet snow.
You can add color to your sculpture as you create the snowballs as well, which will color the interior and exterior of the sculpture.
You can carve the entire body of the animal out of one large snowball if you prefer.
Take care not so stay in the cold weather for too long. Take periodic breaks to warm yourself, if necessary.
