How to Defeat "Follow the Spiders" on "LEGO Harry Potter" for the PS3
"LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4" covers the early events of Harry Potter's tenure at Hogwarts, the mystical school of wizardry. In this game, you will face a wide range of dangerous monsters as you struggle to improve your wizarding skills and maintain friendships. Chapter five of the second year, titled "Follow the Spiders," puts you in one of the most frightening areas of the game. You will have to find your way through this dark forest, fighting spiders along the way, if you want to save your friends and continue the story.

Jump onto the small stump just to the right as you exit Hagrid's hut.

Ride the stump to the right, where you will find a small ledge. Jump to this ledge and get rid of the brush that sits on top of it.

Assemble the LEGO pieces you find behind the brush to create a raining cloud.

Move the cloud over the tree near the ledge. The tree will grow into a ladder, giving your companions a method for reaching the ledge.

Run to the right and have Fang dig in the patch of ground on the path. This will drop a massive tree that you can use as a bridge.

Kill the wasps across the bridge. Next, dispatch the dangerous vines that block your path to the right.

Jump onto one of the brooms and head across the pool of water. Assemble the LEGO pieces on the left-hand side of the pond to give your companions a ledge to climb up and find you.

Climb the small ladder on the right and kill the wasps that lie in wait. Use magic to kill the gremlins messing around down the path and have Fang dig in the patch of ground the gremlins reveal.

Drop into the tunnel Fang discovers and run through it to find the final boss of this level, a giant spider.

Avoid the spider's web shots and hit the small spiders with magic to knock them over. Pick up a flipped spider with the Wingardium spell and toss it at the giant spider to do damage. You will need to hit the big spider three times to end the fight.
