A ticket booth adds authenticity to a carnival or circus-themed party.

A cardboard ticket booth can add authenticity and fun to a child's circus party, school carnival or a family movie night. This is a simple craft that only requires a few supplies, but will delight children. Put together a ticket booth and purchase some real tickets from a party shop to add authenticity to the experience.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a large rectangle on the upper half of one side of the box. Consider who will be standing in the box, and if it is a child, make the window a little lower. If it is an adult, make the window higher.

    • 2

Cut the rectangle out using a sharp craft knife. Carefully remove the rectangle and discard it.

    • 3

Flip the box over and decide how large an opening you'll need in the back for the ticket taker to get in and out of the box. Cut an opening to fill this need.

    • 4

Set the box upright and paint it using acrylic paints. Paint the box using colors that match your party theme or decor, and paint the word "Tickets" either above or below the ticket window.

    • 5

Add glitter glue to the wording and glue sequins and craft glitter all over the booth.

    • 6

Cut three or four small holes about an inch apart along the sides of the ticket booth using the craft knife. Tie helium balloons on ribbons through the holes.

Tips & Warnings

  • While premade tickets can be purchased, it may be more fun to make your own. Use a word processing program on your computer to make customized tickets with the name of your event or your child's name, or sit down with your child and make construction paper tickets using stickers, markers and glitter glue.
