How to Tighten a Bath Drain
A bath drain is a circular plumbing piece that screws into the threads of your tub's drain hole. When a bath drain is loose, water may leak from the drain or the overflow tube. This will cause damage to the subfloor beneath your tub. You may notice leaks from or bulges in the ceiling below, if the tub is on a higher floor. Tightening the bath drain requires less than an hour.

Insert the ends of a pair of slip-joint pliers into different portions of the basket within the bath drain.

Insert a thick screwdriver between the two ends of the pliers.

Turn the pliers clockwise using the screwdriver. Turn until the bath drain is tight.
