How to: Leather Bracelet
A braided leather bracelet is a craft project that you can complete at home. For half the price of a store-bought leather bracelet, you can custom-make a stylish one for yourself and your friends. Braiding leather entails interlacing several strands of leather in an interwoven pattern. For a basic leather bracelet, start with three strands and use the same technique as you would to braid hair.
Instructions
-
-
1
Measure your wrist. Cut three pieces of leather cord that measure three times larger than your wrist.
-
2
Align the top edge of all three leather strands. Tie a knot using all three strands. Give it a tug to ensure that the knot is secure.
-
-
3
Push a safety pin through the knot's center. Attach the pin to a small cushion sitting on your lap. The safety pin and cushion hold the three leather strands in place while you braid them.
-
4
Separate the three leather strands and lay them in front of you. Place the left stand over the middle strand and lift the right stand over the middle strand. Repeat this braiding method until you arrive at the end of the strands. Be sure to apply pressure to the strands and keep the braid tight.

Tie a knot at the bottom of the braid. Remove the safety pin from the cushion and top knot. Tie the leather bracelet around your wrist or give it to a friend as a gift. Cut off any excess cord with scissors.
