How to Make a Friendship Bracelet That Says "Friends Forever"

String letter beads on a bracelet to show friendship.

Rather than give a friend the traditional braided friendship bracelet, present one with the phrase "Friends Forever" on it. To make the words, use beads that are either in the shape of letters themselves or ones that display the letter. The letters usually appear on the beads through engraving, imprinting, painting or printing. They come in a variety of fonts and styles. When selecting the beads, you don't have to use all of the same kind. For example, use block lettering for the word "Friends" and script for "Forever."

Instructions

    • 1

Cut one 10-inch piece of embroidery floss.

    • 2

Wrap the bottom 2 inches of the string around a pencil. Tie a double-knot below the pencil. Remove the pencil. The knot will hold the loop in place.

    • 3

Arrange the beads on a flat surface to read "Friends Forever."

    • 4

Push the unknotted end of the string through the eye of the needle. Do not tie a knot the thread.

    • 5

Slide the first "F" onto the needle. Push it down the needle and string to the looped end of the string. Add the "RIENDS" beads onto the bracelet one at a time with the needle.

    • 6

Remove the needle from the thread.

    • 7

Tie a double-knot in the middle of the thread.

    • 8

Thread the needle. Slide on the "FOREVER" beads one at a time. Push them against the knot. Remove the needle.

    • 9

Tie a double-knot with the bottom 2 inches of string.
