How to Remove a Shortcut Arrow
The shortcut arrow has been part of the Microsoft Windows operating system since Windows 95. It shows which icons on the computer screen merely point to a program or file. Icons without a shortcut arrow represent actual programs or files. Some users prefer to do away with the shortcut arrows completely and to trust their own memory as to which icon is which. Removing the arrow on Windows 7 and Vista is easily done with a freely downloadable program, Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover.
