How to Make a Witness Bracelet With Color

How to Make a Witness Bracelet With Color thumbnail
Because this bracelet only has six beads, it goes together quickly.

Christian witness bracelets, or "salvation" bracelets, are often used to tell and show people the plan of Christian salvation through the different colored beads. Making them is simple, even for small children, because it simply involves stringing beads on a thread or bracelet string. Familiarize yourself with the colors and the order they go in so you can easily use them to share the message of the Gospel. Witness bracelets can be made from any type of material; crystal beads look fancy, but plastic pony beads are the most commonly used. If working with small children, you could even use large wooden beads.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the string so that it is long enough to tie around the wrist. 10 inches is a good length for an adult, unless the wrist is very large. For children, six inches is appropriate. Yarn, plastic cording hemp or any other type of beading string can be used.

    • 2

Tie a knot about three inches from one end. String the beads onto the string from the opposite end of the knot. They should each be placed in order from black, red, white or clear, blue, green to gold. To space the beads out a bit more, tie a knot in between each bead.

    • 3

Place a knot on the string at the other end of the beads to keep them secure in the middle of the string.

    • 4

Tie the bracelet around the wrist. Make sure it fits your wrist; if it is too big, it may fall off your hand. Trim any excess string.

Tips & Warnings

  • Memorize what each bead stands for and represents. Black represents the sin in our lives; red represents the blood of Jesus. White represents how our lives are washed by God's forgiveness. Blue represents the water used in baptism, and the green bead represents our growth in the Lord. Yellow is representative of the golden streets of Heaven.

  • Make the string longer to wear it instead as a necklace. You can also tie the bracelet onto a backpack, zipper pull or many other items.

  • Be careful if making this with small children; don't let them put the beads in their mouth and be conscious of choking hazards.
