How to Make a Dolphin Craft
The silly antics and playful demeanor of dolphins naturally appeal to children, as does the creativity of craft making, so combing the two to make a dolphin craft is an ideal activity to engage children in. Use this craft to teach children about the features of dolphins, as well as how they move through the water. With a shoebox and a few basic craft supplies, you can create a craft that resembles a dolphin jumping out of the water.

1
Remove the lid from a shoebox. Place the shoebox on a flat surface with the opening facing down. Cover the sides and bottom of the shoebox with glue.
-
2
Place a piece of white construction paper over the bottom of the shoebox. Press the edges of the construction paper around the edges of the shoebox. Cut off any excess paper.
-
-
3
Decorate the box to look like the ocean. Paint the surfaces of the box with different shades of blue paint to create the look of water. Set the box aside to allow the paint to dry.
-
4
Print out and cut out an image of a dolphin.
-
5
Paint a craft stick blue. Glue the cut out image of the dolphin to the end of the craft stick.
-
6
Cut a slit along the edge of the bottom of the shoebox. Insert the end of the craft stick into the slit so that the dolphin is pointing up.
-
7
Move the craft stick back and forth from inside the box, making it look as if the dolphin is jumping in the water.
