How to Get the YouTube Sidebar in Your Blogger Blog

Visitors to your Blogger blog can watch YouTube videos in your sidebar.

Blogger, the free blogging platform from Google, lets you create as many blogs as you want and compose posts of any length. You can also customize the look and feel of your Blogger blog to make it unique. One aspect of customizing a Blogger blog is inserting sidebar gadgets for added functionality -- such as the Official YouTube Gadget, which lets your blog visitors watch YouTube videos without having to navigate away from your blog.

  Log in to your Blogger dashboard and click the "Design" link under the title of the blog you want to add the YouTube sidebar to. This displays the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" screen for that blog.

  Click the "Add a Gadget" link in the sidebar of the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" screen. An "Add a Gadget" window opens.

  Type "official youtube gadget" in the search box of the "Add a Gadget" window and press "Enter." This displays the "Official YouTube Gadget" entry.

  Click the "+" sign that appears to the right of "Official YouTube Gadget," then click the "Save" button. Click "View Blog" to view your Blogger blog with the new YouTube sidebar.
