The Preview application comes preinstalled on every Mac computer.

Copy and pasting is one of the most useful of all computer functions, as it allows you to duplicate something exactly as it appears somewhere else. To copy a JPG image and paste it to another location, you must first highlight the JPG image. On a iMac computer, you can highlight a JPG image in a few simple steps using Preview, the computer's default image-viewing application.

Instructions

      Click the "Finder" icon in the computer's dock, followed by the "Applications" folder icon. Double-click the "Preview" icon to launch the application.

      Click the "File" tab and select the "Open..." option from the file menu. Locate the JPG file on the computer's hard drive, click it and click the "OK" button to open the image in the Preview application.

      Click the "Edit" tab and select the "Select All" option from the Edit menu to highlight the JPG image.
