Yoga will help you tone your muscles. Exercise every day, especially if you're overweight. Whether you want to be a runway, catalog, commercial or plus sized model, your body has to be toned even if it's not thin. Your body is the first thing modelling agencies will notice about you. Modelling agencies are only interested in how you look and how clothes look on you, so a little cellulite or a slight bulge could make them instantly reject you.

Use a face mask once in a while to rejuvinate your skin. Work on making your hair, skin and nails healthy. Do not try to change your natural appearance by dying your hair, lightening your skin color or wearing colored contact lenses. Embrace your own skin, eye and hair color. Take vitamins daily and use home remedies or get your hair, skin and nails professionally treated. Modelling agencies are always looking for new models to diversify their present bunch.

Make a portfolio full of photos of you in different types of clothing and poses. Find a photographer who has previous experience in making portfolios. Discuss the different pictures you can take and the clothing and makeup you should do. While buying clothes for the photo-shoot, consult different fashion magazines to match the looks the models are wearing. Get your makeup professionally done for the occasion.

Look online for modelling sites that inform readers of open casting calls and agencies. Find nearby agencies, make appointments with agents and present your portfolio to them. The portfolio will show the agents what you're capable of. Many will turn you down, but don't be disappointed, because at the same time, many others may be interesting in representing you.

Wear stylish, fashionable clothes to be taken seriously as a model Update your wardrobe so you always have something to wear at a casting call or for meeting different agents. Looking like a model will make the agents think of you as a model, making it easier for you to get booked for jobs.
