How to Make a Bubble Romper for a Baby
Add a bubble skirt to any infant-size romper for an adorable bubble romper fashion essential. Make the skirt from the same fabric as the romper or let the skirt stand out by using a fabric in a different color, pattern or texture. Sew the bubble skirt directly onto the waist of the romper or make the skirt removable by adding an elastic waistband and sliding it over the top of the romper.

1
Dress your infant in the romper and measure around her waist for the width. Measure from her waist to about mid-thigh for the length. Multiply each measurement by two and cut a piece of fabric according to these measurements.
-
2
Lay the fabric good side up and fold it in half to reduce the width by half. Sew a simple stitch down the rough edge to make the bubble skirt's side seam.
-
-
3
Fold over about 1/2 inch at one of the remaining rough edges to make a smooth edge for the waistline. Sew the folded waistline in place.
-
4
Fold the remaining rough edge upward to just underneath the smooth waistline. Pin it in place and sew a simple stitch to form the bubble skirt.
-
5
Sew a wide gathering stitch along the waistline edge and pull on the thread to gather the top of the skirt to your infant's waist circumference.
-
6
Slide the bubble skirt up to the waist on the romper and pin it in place. Flip the romper inside out and sew a simple stitch around the waist to join the bubble skirt to the romper.
