Make the bride feel like a princess on her special day.

Bridal showers are intended to give the bride a happy send-off into wedded life, pampering her along the way. This day of relaxation is greatly appreciated by the bride and her bridesmaids, who have all been working hard to plan the wedding. The bridesmaid of honor usually organizes the bridal shower, inviting guests to celebrate the impending nuptials. The day comes complete with silly games, party treats and a few hours of bonding before the big day arrives.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the party date at least two months in advance. With as much activity as the bride and those closest to her must accomplish as the wedding date nears, it's best to have a date set so everyone can arrange to attend the party.

    • 2

Book a venue unless you intend to have the shower at a private home. Discover how many guests can fit into the venue so you can create a guest list accordingly.

    • 3

Compile a guest list of about 10 to 20 people. Only invite those who are also invited to the wedding, otherwise you appear to be just searching for gifts. Ask the bride to look over the guest list to see if there are any additions or alterations she wants to make before sending the invitations.

    • 4

Print shower invitations and post them to the guests. Be sure to include shower registry information so they know the type of gift to bring. Make sure the invitations include response cards so you know how much food and how many sets of cutlery you'll need.

Order your decorations, including streamers and floral centerpieces. Ensure you have enough people bringing food or hire a catering company to feed your guests. Borrow any cutlery and dishes you need if you don't have enough for all of your guests. Plan a list of games to play and compile a CD to set the tone for the day.
