DIY Spiderweb Sweater
It's early afternoon on Halloween eve and you still haven't figured out what you're going to wear. A sweater with a decorative spiderweb can be a spooky item of clothing for trick-or-treaters and Halloween parties. Using a black repurposed sweater with a wide crochet knit will help you whip up a quick and festive costume or outfit. This do-it-yourself project requires you to have a basic knowledge of crocheting.

1
Cut the back panel out of the crocheted sweater, leaving the collar, bottom band and shoulder portions so that the two sides are still connected. Pull the yarn out of the back panel of the sweater and ball it for reuse.
-
2
Crochet one vertical spoke down the center collar stitch to the center bottom band stitch using the repurposed yarn. The spoke should be loose enough so the sweater doesn't stretch with movement.
-
-
3
Crochet one horizontal spoke from the center stitch of the right side panel to the center stitch of the left side panel, wrapping the spoke around the existing spoke in the middle of the sweater.
-
4
Repeat this process until you have created 8 spokes in total to create the first portion of the web.
-
5
Crochet one chain long enough to wrap around in a spiral pattern around the back of your sweater. This chain should be several feet in length.
-
6
Attach the chain to the center where all the straight line spokes meet. Weave the long chain in a spiral that resembles the pattern of a spiderweb. As the long chain intersects the spokes, secure them in place by weaving them together using a yarn needle.
-
7
Weave in all the ends.
