Instructions

    • 1

Line a flat work space with wax paper.

    • 2

Insert a glue stick into a glue gun and plug the gun into a power outlet.

    • 3

Squeeze hot glue onto the back of a button. Immediately press the end of a bobby pin into the glue. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 4

Line a barrette clasp with dots of glue and press buttons on top of the glue. Continue gluing buttons -- including gluing them on top of one another -- until the barrette is completely covered in buttons.

    • 5

Squeeze glue on the back of a button and press it on top of a brooch clasp. Continue gluing buttons until the brooch forms a cluster of overlapping buttons.

    • 6

Glue buttons directly on a pair of old ballerina flats that you have scrubbed clean. Squeeze dots of glue one at a time and press the buttons into the glue until the shoes are covered. Glue a few buttons on the toe of the shoe to resemble a rosette instead of covering the entire shoe.
