Instructions

    • 1

Open the sheet. Hold it up in front of you. If the sheet is too long for you to walk comfortably without tripping, then you will need to shorten it before you wrap it around your body. To shorten it, lay the sheet flat. Fold the top hemline downward 6 to 8 inches. Hold it up again to ensure that it does not fall below your feet.

    • 2

Grasp one corner of the sheet with your left hand. Slide this corner through your hand until you have about 6 inches of fabric in your grip. (Think of a magician pulling a hankerchief through his hand.) These 6 inches of fabric will help to fasten the toga when you are finished wrapping.

    • 3

Hold this corner of the sheet in your left hand throughout the wrapping process. If you need to use your left hand to maneuver the sheet, make sure you keep hold of the corner at the same time. Begin wrapping the toga around your body by draping it across the front of your body and under your right armpit. Make any adjustments needed to cover your chest area.

Pull the sheet around the back of your body and under your left armpit. At this point the sheet will be wrapped around your entire body and beneath both armpits. The corner of fabric should still be in your left hand.

    • 5

Wrap the loose corner of the sheet around the front of your body and upwards toward your right shoulder. Wrap the fabric in your left hand around the back of your head so the two corners meet. Tie the two corners together snugly. At this point the toga will be wrapped around your entire body and secured at the right shoulder.

Secure the knot with a brooch or pin. Make any needed adjustments for fit or modesty.

Tips & Warnings
