How to Find a Facebook Profile ID With Username

A Facebook profile ID is a unique number assigned to each Facebook account. The Profile ID shows up in the Facebook profile address by default. Facebook offers the option of assigning a custom profile name to take the place of the profile ID. Once a profile name or username has been created, the profile ID no longer shows in the address bar. The profile ID is still assigned to the account and can be found once you know where to look.

Instructions

1. Open a Web browser. Click the address bar at the top of the browser. Type "http://www.facebook.com/" followed by the username. Press Enter.

2. Right-click on an empty area of the Facebook profile page. Select "View Source" or "View Page Source."

3. Click "Edit" at the top of the source window. Select "Find."

4. Type "/profile.php?id=" in the search box and press Enter. The profile ID appears directly after the highlighted text.
