How to Change a Permalink in Ning
Ning allows you to create your own social network group around a specific topic. You can then invite friends and have online discussions, share photos and more. When you create a group on Ning, a permalink is created so that users can type the link into their Web browsers to access the group directly. If you would like to change this permalink to something easy to remember or easy to type, you can do this within the Ning interface.

Visit the page of your group within the Ning website by clicking the "Groups" tab and the "My Groups" link, then choosing the group from the list. Make sure you are logged into an account that has administrator access for the group.

Click the "Options" button and click "Edit Group." This opens the "Edit Group" page where you can edit the details of your group.

Click inside the box next to "Group Address" and edit the URL of the group. Do not use spaces in this box. You may wish to use a single word or something easy to remember so that your group members can easily remember the link.

Click the "Save" button at the bottom right of the window to save your changes.

Type "www.ning.com/group/" without the quotes into the address field of your Web browser, followed by the text you entered in step 3. This will be the new permalink for your group.
