Find your favorite Web pages quickly by bookmarking them in Google Chrome.

If you find something interesting or entertaining while you're surfing the Internet with the Google Chrome Web browser, you might want to bookmark the page so you can find it again easily. Like all Web browsers, Chrome includes a bookmark tool that saves the selected Web page in a "Favorites" folder. Once you've bookmarked your favorite Web pages with Chrome, you can access them instantly by clicking the site name on the "Bookmarks Bar" or by selecting the "Bookmarks" folder button in the browser's main navigation menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch the Google Chrome Web browser.

    • 2

Navigate to the Web page that you want to add to the browser's "Bookmarks" folder.

    • 3

Hover your mouse pointer over the star icon in the right-hand side of Chrome's address bar. Click the star icon when the "Bookmark This Page" label appears above the icon. Alternatively, press the "Ctrl" and "D" keys on your computer keyboard, or right-click the Web page and select "Add Page" from the context menu.

    • 4

Type a name for the bookmark into the "Name" input field in the "Bookmark Added" dialog box. Skip this step if you prefer to use the default name for the Web page.

    • 5

Click the "Folder" button and select a folder from the drop-down list of options. Use this feature to organize your bookmarks into different themes or subjects. Click the "Done" button or click anywhere on the browser screen when you've selected the folder. Alternatively, select "Choose Another Folder" from the options list if you want to create a new folder for the bookmarked page. Click the "New Folder" button. Type a name for the folder into the input field. Click the "OK" button to save the folder and add the bookmarked Web page to this folder.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can skip step 5 if you want Chrome to add the bookmarked Web page to the default location, which is the "Bookmarks Bar" that appears above the main browser pane.

  • For quick access to your bookmarked Web pages, ensure Chrome always displays the Bookmarks Bar. Click the wrench icon in the main navigation menu, then select "Tools" followed by "Always Show Bookmarks Bar" to enable this option.
