How to Make Balloon Bananas
Balloon twisting is an art form that turns simple balloons into the sculptures of animals, plants or shapes. You can even make hats, wands and swords out of balloons. Knowing what types of twists to make and where to position these twists is essential when creating a balloon sculpture. You can make balloon bananas by learning how to execute the banana twist. This twist involves a single balloon and divides it in half multiple times to create a bunch of bananas.

1
Blow up a yellow latex twisting balloon. Leave a 1-inch space uninflated at the end of the balloon. Tie the open end of the balloon into an overhand knot to seal it shut and trap the air inside.
-
2
Bend the balloon to form a circle. Grasp the knotted end and the uninflated portion of the opposite end and tie them together in an overhand knot.

3
Bend the balloon in half to create two equal sized tubes. Position the knotted end on one side. Pinch the folded side opposite the knotted end and twist the sides at the pinched point two to three times to form a crease.
-
4
Find the middle point of the folded balloon. Place a hand on either side of this point, grasping both tubes of the balloon in each hand. Twist the portion of balloon in your right hand while holding the portion of the balloon in your left hand still. Make three to four twists. The balloon should now have two loops, and look like a bow tie.

5
Fold the balloon in half at the center crease. Tuck one side of one loop through the center of the other loop. Twist the tucked side of the first loop around one side of the second loop. Twist the sides together three to four times to join the four sides into a bunch.
-
6
Grasp the balloon bunch together and gently bend it into a soft curve. Run your fingers over the surface of the balloon from the center to the ends as you bend it.
