How to Make a Maleficent Costume
Maleficent is the cartoon villain from the Disney film "Sleeping Beauty." She has a pointed horn headpiece and wears a long, flowing robe. This costume is easy to recreate at home for a Halloween event or costume party. You can use some basic materials to pull the outfit together, which will save money over purchasing a premade costume from a specialty shop. When finished, you'll have a spooky costume that's sure to scare your friends.
Things You'll Need
- Black skull cap
- Black construction paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
- Graduation robe
- Shower curtain rod
- Black spray paint
- Green face paint

Trace two horn shapes onto a piece of black construction paper. Make the horns about 3 inches thick and 10 inches long, coming to a point at one end, just like the horns on Maleficent's head.

Cut out the horns and glue them to the top of a black skull cap to make the costume headpiece.

Cut jagged lines along the sleeves of a black graduation robe to mimic Maleficent's robe.

Spray paint an old shower curtain rod with black spray paint, to make Maleficent's staff. Let it dry.

Paint your face with green face paint to complete the costume.
