How to Create Animal Smiley Faces on Facebook
Since its official launch in 2004, Facebook has advanced from a website displaying basic information about its users to a site that allows its users to interact in a variety of ways, from messaging one another to writing on each others' "walls." Facebook developers have also allowed users to personalize more of their applications and functions; one of these ways is through the use of animal smiley faces on the website.

Open Facebook chat. Though the default for users is to sign them into chat, you may have signed yourself out at one point. To open chat, find the chat bar on the bottom right-hand of your screen and double-click it to open.

Select the friend with whom you wish to chat and double-click on his name or photo.

Enter emoticons to create special animal smiley faces. Though most people know basic emoticons, such as a smiley face, animal emoticons require more complex keystrokes. For example, to create a penguin, you can type <(") and a penguin will appear in your chat.

Experiment with other emoticons until you have found the one that best suits the emotion you wish to convey. For example, another animal smiley face on Facebook is the shark, which you can create by typing (^^^) .
