How to Raise Hits to Your Linkedin Page
LinkedIn, a social networking site for professionals, is one of the premier ways to connect with colleagues, friends and industry players in your field of expertise. Every user on LinkedIn can make a profile to market their skills, but not all profiles are created equal. The ones that rise to the top of the search results and frequently draw traffic from interested users are those that take advantage of industry keywords, a concise and informative profile, and exceptional participation in LinkedIn's groups.

1
Use three industry keywords and your email address in your profile headline. The LinkedIn profile headline is the sentence under your name on your LinkedIn profile. Many people simply write their job title in this area. By using hot keywords in your field or industry, you can draw more traffic to your profile. By including your email address, you can give that traffic an easy way to immediately contact you.

2
Write a concise and keyword-heavy profile summary. The profile summary is the longer section of your profile where you can write about your professional experience and job skills. Again, industry keywords can make your profile appear at the top of search results on LinkedIn and raise the amount of hits your profile gets. Mention keywords every sentence or two in your profile. However, be absolutely sure that your profile sounds natural; don't write around the keywords, just make an effort to use them as often as possible without writing awkwardly constructed sentences or complete nonsense.

3
Join as many groups related to your profession as you can and participate often. While your profile now has keywords locked down, the majority of LinkedIn users still won't know you exist unless they perform searches. By offering advice, constructive criticism and insightful industry comments in as many groups as possible, you can develop a name as an authority, which will lead users to click on your profile to see what other wisdom you have to offer.

4
Solicit recommendations from other users. Recommendations are a great way to raise your profile on LinkedIn. You can ask any former colleague or boss for a recommendation if you're connected to them. By receiving a recommendation from your former boss, your boss' contacts will also see in their updates that he recommended you and increase the likelihood of more profile hits.
