How to Get Tertwig in "Pearl"
"Pokemon Pearl" is an adventure role-playing game for the Nintendo DS that gives players the chance to take on the role of a Pokemon trainer and capture a number of different Pokemon. The Grass-type Pokemon Turtwig is a starting Pokemon in "Pokemon Pearl," meaning players can choose to have a Turtwig immediately upon starting the game. However, because of its starter status, Turtwig is not found in the wild and therefore cannot be captured using the normal methods of Pokemon capture.

Tips & Warnings
If you did not select Turtwig as your starting Pokemon, but would like to add one to your team, your only option is to trade with another player. You must find a player who has a Turtwig and is willing to trade. Connect your Nintendo DS to a Wi-Fi connection and complete the trade by visiting the DTS in Jubilife City.
If you selected a Turtwig, but evolved it into another Pokemon, you can still obtain another Turtwig through breeding. Find a compatible Pokemon of the opposite gender in either the Monster Egg Group or Grass Egg Group and take the two Pokemon to a Pokemon Daycare Center to begin the breeding process.
Selecting Turtwig will cause your rival to pick a Chimchar, which is strong against Turtwig.
If you choose Turtwig as your starting Pokemon, you cannot obtain a Piplup or Chimchar except through trading.
