How to Troubleshoot Craftsman Receiver 139.53755

You will need to use your garage door's emergency rope.

The Craftsman receiver 139.53755 can sometimes malfunction and cause the remote operation of your garage door to falter. You can remedy this with the use of the garage door's emergency release rope. Troubleshooting the issue of the unresponsive Craftsman receiver 139.53755 requires no unique items or tools, and you don't need to possess an existing knowledge of Craftsman receiver construction and operation.

Instructions

1. Grab the handle of your garage door if it is refusing to close and respond to your Craftsman garage door remote receiver. Attempt to move the door down to a closed position if it isn't currently in that position. Do not push or pull too hard on the door if it will not budge yet.

2. Find the emergency release rope for the Craftsman receiver 139.53755 if you cannot move the door manually. This is a red rope that hangs from the overhead assembly, just beside the garage door opener light. Pull the rope downward to toggle the Craftsman motor control opening unit off. This also puts the door unit release arm into a vertical position.

3. Grab the door handle and move it slowly all the way down if you weren't able to perform this procedure previously. Be careful with the door. It is completely de-motorized and will slide down fast, so pull gradually so that you do not damage it.

4. Hold the red emergency release rope at a 45-degree angle and pull. This will reset the release arm of the unit to its horizontal position.

5. Push the button on your remote control receiver. This will automatically re-engage the motor on your garage door unit and complete the troubleshooting and repair process. The door will now react to your remote control receiver again and work properly.
