How to Get to Sunyshore City in "Pokemon Diamond Version"

Sunyshore City is a location in the 2007 Nintendo DS role-playing game "Pokemon: Diamond." It is one of the final areas in the game, and players can access it only from Route 222. The city experiences a blackout for most of the game's duration, and until it is resolved a nonplayer character blocks all access to Route 222. Most of the seals you need to customize pokeballs are available only from the Sunyshore market in this city.

Instructions

    • 1

Play the game until you have defeated seven gym leaders and have seven badges. Level up your Pokemon until they are above level 40 to make the next few battles easier.

    • 2

Complete the Team Galactic quest by defeating their leader at Spear Pillar at the top of Mt. Coronet. This is all part of the main story, so you will get to it by playing through the game as normal.

    • 3

Capture or defeat the legendary Pokemon Dialga. This is possible only after you have defeated the Team Galactic leader. Dialga is the Pokemon that Team Galactic summoned at the top of Mt. Coronet. Find Dialga at Spear Pillar where you fought the last battle.

    • 4

Travel to Valefor Lakefront, located between Pastoria City and Veilstone City. You can reach it from either Route 213 or 214. The path to the east, Route 222, will now be open. Follow it to reach Sunyshore City.

Tips & Warnings

  • When battling Dialga, be aware that Ground and Fighting-type Pokemon are very effective against Dialga. This is useful if you want to defeat Dialga, but not if you want to capture it, because your Pokemon might be too effective and kill it.
