Instructions

    • 1

Wrap a piece of long black scrap fabric or an old black tie around your child's forehead. You want the two ends of the fabric or tie to hang down to the child's shoulders.

    • 2

Mark off the end length of the headband fabric with a fabric marker and lay the piece on the cutting mat.

    • 3

Cut a 5-inch-wide strip of the black fabric with the rotary cutter.

    • 4

Insert a hot glue stick into the glue gun, plug the gun into a power outlet and wait about 5 minutes so the glue can soften.

    • 5

Squeeze a line of glue down the top length of the black fabric strip and immediately fold the fabric over. Press down to form a finished border for the headband. Repeat on the bottom border of the fabric strip.

    • 6

Tie the fabric strip or the old tie around your child's forehead. Knot the fabric strip of the tie at the back of the child's head or on the side of the child's head. The ends of the headband will flow down to her shoulders.
