How Do You Kill the Veteran Child in "Saint's Row 2"
In "Saints Row 2," you and your gang, the Saints, strive to wrest control of Stillwater City from numerous rival gangs that have taken over. One of the rival gangs, the Sons of Samedi, has captured your ally, Shaundi. A gang member called Veteran Child takes Shaundi to his nightclub, and you must track him down to free her. If you shoot Veteran Child while he holds Shaundi, though, you risk killing her. Make Veteran Child let go of Shaundi by using the flashbang grenades in the nightclub.

Bring plenty of ammo and flashbang grenades to the fight with Veteran Child. Grenades and ammo are provided at the nightclub, but you have a better chance at winning the fight if you are fully prepared at the beginning of it.

Use the left thumbstick to select the flashbang grenade. Press "R2" on the PlayStation 3 or "RT" on Xbox 360 to toss a flashbang grenade onto the dance floor directly in front of Veteran Child. It stuns him, and he lets go of Shaundi. If you miss and the grenade lands behind a wall, it has no effect.

Use the left thumbstick to switch from grenades to any gun that you currently have in your possession, such as the SMG or shotgun. Press "R2" or "RT" to shoot Veteran Child quickly before he recovers. After a few seconds, he grabs Shaundi again and sends out reinforcements.

Hide behind cover, and take out the reinforcements. Throw another flashbang grenade when the room is clear. As before, shoot Veteran Child when you have the opportunity. When Veteran Child's health bar empties, he dies, and Shaundi is freed.

Tips & Warnings
Never shoot at Veteran Child when he holds Shaundi. It takes just a single bullet to kill her, and you must restart the mission if this happens.
