How to Put a Button on Facebook

Facebook has an array of virtual buttons available.

Facebook is a website that gives you the opportunity to share and exchange information with friends, family members and other users. Along with sharing information, you have the opportunity to add decorations to your pages. That includes virtual buttons, or as they are called in Facebook vernacular, pieces of flair.

Instructions

1. Type "Pieces of Flair" in the search bar at the top center of your Facebook page. You can also go directly to the page by copying apps.facebook.com/getflair and paste in your browser window.

2. Click on the "Go to App" button.

3. Click "Confirm" in the pop-up window asking for permission to connect "Pieces of Flair" to your Facebook account.

4. Browse the available virtual buttons. If you do not find any that you wish to add to your page, you can do a search related to your specific interests by typing a keyword in the search bar on the upper right. In the event you still don't find a virtual button to your liking, continue to the next step.

5. Click the "Make Flair" tab above the virtual buttons to create your own. This will take you to another page on which you will be asked to choose the type of flair you wish to make. Select either "Classic" or "Limited Edition." The Classic pieces of flair are all shaped like buttons while the Limited Edition pieces are available in hearts, squares and stars. You can add up to 10 pieces of Classic flair to your page per day -- but just two Limited Edition pieces per day.

6. Click on "Get Image" to open a window allowing you to browse available images on your desktop. Locate the image, click on it and hit "Enter." The image will then appear on the Facebook flair page. Images must be in JPEG format.

7. Arrange and edit the image so that it fits in the virtual button. Positioning the image can be accomplished by clicking your mouse while holding down and moving the mouse. If needed, resize the image by sliding the "Zoom" option above it.

8. Click on "Save It!" once the image is positioned and sized to your liking.

9. Click either "Yes" or "No" when taken to the page that asks if your would like to add the virtual button to your directory. Clicking "Yes" will add the button to your directory, meaning it can be seen by anyone who shares the interest that your button represents. Clicking "No" will allow the flair to be seen by only those who are able to view your profile. Clicking either will add the button to your profile page.
