Instructions

    • 1

Place a wooden tongue depressor on a flat work surface. Position and place a ruler down the center of the depressor so the edge of the ruler is on the same axis as the long edge of the tongue depressor.

    • 2

Place a mark along the top edge of the ruler 1 1/2 inches in from both ends of the tongue depressor.

    • 3

Match the edges of two tongue depressors so the two 1 1/2-inch marks are on top. Secure the two tongue depressors together with two rubber bands so they do not move.

    • 4

Position a 6mm drill bit over a mark on the tongue depressors. Drill through both layers. Repeat the process with the second mark. Remove the rubber bands.

    • 5

Slide the tip of a Size 10 or 6mm knitting needle through the two holes on one tongue depressor. Slide the tongue depressor down until it rests on the heads of the two knitting needles.

    • 6

Position a rubber band so it is 2 inches from the tip of each knitting needle. Wrap the rubber bands until they are tight.

    • 7

Slide the second tongue depressor over the two ends of the knitting needles until it rests on the two rubber bands.

    • 8

Wrap a rubber band on each knitting needle directly above the tongue depressor to hold them in place.
