How to Get the Leafstone in "Sapphire"

In the "Pokemon" video games, Leaf Stones are a type of evolution stone that transforms Pokemon into stronger forms. Leaf Stones have this effect on certain species of Grass-type Pokemon, including Gloom, Weepinbell, Exeggcute and Nuzleaf. In "Pokemon Sapphire," you cannot purchase Leaf Stones like in the original "Pokemon" games. However, you will find one near Fortree City. You will also receive additional ones from a Treasure Hunter near Mossdeep City.

Instructions

  1. Route 119

    • 1

Travel to Fortree City in northern Hoenn.

    • 2

Walk west from the town until you reach Route 119.

    • 3

Travel south, ignoring the bridge that leads westward, until you reach the riverbank.

    • 4

Use the Surf ability to enter the water.

    • 5

Follow the river as it runs southward. Eventually two rocks will block your path.

    • 6

Step onto the strip of land to your east. An item containing a Leaf Stone will be there.

    Route 124

    • 7

Fly to Mossdeep City in eastern Hoenn.

    • 8

Use Surf to swim west onto Route 124 or southwest onto Route 126.

    • 9

Use the Dive ability to dive into any dark spots of water in the sea. You will access underwater areas.

    • 10

Swim through seaweed until you encounter wild Relicanth.

    • 11

Hit the Relicanth with Thief, a Dark-type move that steals items from wild Pokemon. If the Relicanth relinquishes a Green Shard item, find another specimen and try again.

    • 12

Return to the surface of Route 124 and swim to the lone house on the east side of the route.

    • 13

Talk to the treasure hunter inside the house. He will exchange Leaf Stones for Green Shards.
