"Bloons Tower Defense 4" is an online puzzle game where you start out as a single monkey trying to prevent balloons from invading his home. As the game progresses, you can purchase additional monkeys, weapons and towers to help destroy the balloons. These items can be upgraded throughout the game to prevent stronger balloons from getting past the monkeys. If the balloons reach the end of the track and enter the city, the game is over.

Select the correct track before starting the game. The easiest tracks to play are the candy and city level. The second easiest are the circle, earth and atom level, with the hardest being the underground lake.

Choose the correct game mode. Easy, medium and hard mode are self explanatory. Sandbox mode gives players unlimited money and lives, making it useful for those who are just learning how to play. Apocalypse mode is made for expert players and will send a steady stream of balloons along the course until the player has died.

Check Double Cash Mode on the starting screen to earn more cash after beating each level. Players will also start out with $1,300 instead of $650, allowing them to purchase more weapons.

Upgrade your monkeys as soon as possible. Many people make the mistake of purchasing multiple towers without upgrading the monkeys they have. This makes the weapons less efficient at popping balloons. By upgrading your monkeys at the earliest point, they destroy more balloons, eliminating the need for additional towers.
