How to Deal With a Low Esteem Partner
A person with low self-esteem affects not only herself, but also affects those around her. A person with a low esteem often has trouble finding happiness and feeling peaceful. She is hard on herself and is often a perfectionist in the activities she takes part in. If you are with someone like this, it can be difficult to deal with; however, there are approaches you can take to help the situation and help her increase her low esteem.

1
Love him unconditionally. If your partner has a low esteem, you must let him know that you love him no matter what. This will gain his trust for you and can have positive effects on his feelings about himself. This step is extremely important when he is feeling down or does something that he feels stupid or bad about.

2
Make future plans. Never dwell on the past with a partner who has a low esteem. This person already focuses on the past and her mistakes and therefore you must always focus on looking toward the future. Let her know that together you can move forward into the future. This will help her feel more secure with you and your future together.

Speak kindly to him. Be very careful how you speak to your partner with low esteem issues. Avoid criticizing that person by watching your tone of voice and by focusing on positive things instead of negative things. If you want to offer a suggestion for improvement, be selective in how you choose to offer the suggestion. Think about how he will feel when you say it. If you think he will be upset, consider not suggesting it.

4
Encourage her. A person with low self-esteem issues needs constant encouragement. Use words that build her up, instead of tearing her down. Offer compliments and positive remarks when good things happen or she accomplishes something. Show her how much you value her achievements in life.

5
Show appreciation to him. Thank him daily for the small things he does. Tell him that the house looks very clean or that the yard looks great.
