How to Make a Patriotic Friendship Bracelet

Make your friend a patriotic friendship bracelet.

Friends are important at any stage in your life. For children, it is important to have friends to learn from and have fun with. When your child finds a special friend that means a lot him, he may want to give his friend a friendship bracelet as a symbol of their friendship. A patriotic friendship bracelet is a great way to show your friend how much you love him as well as your country.

Things You'll Need

• Red embroidery floss
• White embroidery floss
• Blue embroidery floss
• Scissors
• Tape
• Red beads
• White beads
• Blue beads

Instructions

1. Cut off a 9-inch piece of red, white and blue embroidery floss.

2. Place all three pieces of yarn next to one another and tie them together with a knot at the top. Leave about 1 inch of floss above the knot.

3. Place a piece of tape on top of the knotted portion. This will hold the bracelet in place.

4. Insert a red bead at the bottom of the bracelet and string through so that it is sitting next to the knot.

5. Braid the red, white and blue floss until there are only 2 inches of floss left at the bottom.

6. Insert a white bead and a blue bead under the braid.

7. Tie a knot at the bottom to hold everything in place.

8. Tie the top and the bottom ends together.

9. Give the patriotic friendship bracelet to a special friend.

Tips & Warnings

• Push beads up to the braid or add extra beads to the top of bottom of the bracelet for a more beaded look.
