Step-by-Step for an Origami Mushroom
Many origami shapes and objects using origami paper result in a miniature form. Fold an origami mushroom as a playful display that will appeal to children, especially those who are fond of Smurfs. There are a variety of origami paper colors and patterns to select from to create a colorful bundle of mushrooms similar to those of the Smurfs' village. Origami mushrooms also make cheerful and decorative window displays.

Place the origami paper front-side-up and rotate the square 45 degrees for a diamond shape.
-
2
Fold the paper in half, matching the left corner to the right corner. Unfold the paper.

-
3
Fold the left and right corners to the center and align the edge below the corners with the center crease line.
-
4
Turn the paper over and fold the bottom corner up to form a crease line at the side angles. The main body will have a triangle shape.
-
5
Fold down the top tip of the triangle to form a crease line one inch above its base.
-
6
Fold the upper right and left corners down to align with the horizontal edge. You will have two flaps.
-
7
Lift up the flaps and open the slip beneath each one. Press down on the flaps to form a crease line for the third side of the triangles you will form.
-
8
Bring the bottom tip up to meet at the two triangles formed. You will have a stem to the mushroom.
-
9
Turn the paper over again and fold the top-, left- and right-corner tips to the back to create the head of the mushroom.
