Instructions

  1. Remove Damaged Snap

    • 1

Remove the damaged snap by inserting a flat-head screwdriver between the socket and stud of the closure unit side of the snap. The closure unit is the side without the pearl post.

    • 2

Lift the screwdriver until the post pops off. Be careful not to damage the fabric with the screwdriver.

    • 3

Repeat Step 1 and 2 to remove the pearl post unit from the fabric or for removing any additional pearl snaps.

    Set the Pearl Prong

    • 4

Position the top of the stud on the base of the snap pliers with the prongs facing out, and place the flat piece in the other side of the pliers. Be sure the rubber ring on the snap tool holds the pearl prong firmly in place.

    • 5

Place the socket into the metal side of the snap pliers with the inside facing the pearl prongs.

    • 6

Slide the snap pliers underneath the fabric to insert the metal stud through the small hole in the fabric.

    • 7

Align the snap tool over the small hole in the fabric so that the pearl side is on the outside of the item.

    • 8

Squeeze the pliers firmly to attach the pearl snap to the fabric.

    Set the Stud Side

    • 9

Place the ring prong into the metal side of the snap pliers. Be sure the prongs are facing out.

    • 10

Place the stud piece into the opposite side of the snap pliers with the stud facing into the tool. The stud should make a click sound when inserted properly.

    • 11

Put the fabric in the jaws of the pliers and align the snap over the small hole in the fabric so that the ring prong is on the outside and the stud is on the inside of your fabric.

    • 12

Squeeze the snap pliers to attach the snap in place.
