How to Get Your Kids Moving in the Morning
Getting your kids ready for the day can seem like a monumental task while you are watching them sleep soundly in their beds. Preparing for the day takes time, and kids can end up going to school on an empty stomach if they wake up too late. However, developing time-management skills and a daily routine can help alleviate the challenge of motivating slow-moving children in the morning.

1
Plan in advance. Prepare your children's backpacks, lunches and the breakfast menu the night before school. Tell your kids to choose outfits for the next day; set the clothes on their dressers. Unless a quick morning shower helps your children wake up, encourage your kids to take showers at night so that they have more time in the morning.
-
2
Make sure your children are in bed early enough to get a full night's sleep. Well-rested children are easier to motivate.

-
3
Wake up before your kids; get ready for your day. Take care of essential needs around the house.
-
4
Open the door and window blinds in each one of your children's rooms. The natural light can help them wake up.
-
5
Say, "it's time to wake up," then leave the room for five or 10 minutes to give them time.
-
6
Gather needed items such as backpacks and lunches; place these on the counter so that everything is ready to go. Some kids may emerge and ask for breakfast; get them started on their morning meal, and continue making daily preparations.
-
7
Wake up the other children if they still have not come out of their rooms. Take off the bed covers to help them awake.
