How to Type Emotes
An emote, better known as an emoticon or smiley, is a face or other image created through the use of text characters. Emoticons help those online express the intent of their words in ways that might not otherwise be perceived -- for instance, a phrase that might otherwise be taken as an insult would be more easily accepted as a joke if a smiley face followed. You can learn how to type emotes in just a few steps.
