How to Link Opening Drawers in Second Life

Linden Lab's "Second Life" offers a completely customizable world to residents, or players of the game. Every resident usually tries to build objects, particularly for his home in "Second Life." If you want to build furniture, a dresser or chest of drawers adds a realistic decor to your avatar's bedroom. Within the build menu of "Second Life," you find tools to link and add scripts which add even more realism to your furniture. You need to know some elements of Linden Scripting Language (LSL) to build your own scripts, but plenty of resources exist on "Second Life" Marketplace.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your inventory by pressing "CTRL" and "i."

    • 2

Find two drawers in your inventory. Drag one to the ground.

    • 3

Drag the second drawer to the ground, then right-click to bring up the build menu. Click on the "Content" tab.

    • 4

Add in your LSL script to open the drawer before further editing. To add in a script, right-click the content tab and drag the script from your inventory into the content box. If you need a drawer script, find a freebie open drawer script on Second Life's Marketplace website.

    • 5

Click on the "Position" tool within the build menu at the top. Arrows pop up around your drawer.

    • 6

Move the object to the position above, below, to the left or right of the other drawer using the arrows. For example, click an arrow to move the drawer forward and then click the up arrow to move above your first drawer.

    • 7

Right-click the first drawer and press the "Shift" key. Hold the key and right-click the second drawer to select both of the drawers at once.

    • 8

Press "CTRL" and "L" to link the two drawers. Right-click your linked drawers and click "Take" to save to your inventory.
