How to Remove the Title Above the Name on "Second Life"

Since its launch in 2003, "Second Life" has gone on to become the largest, Internet-based life simulator in the world. User avatars, called residents in the game, may engage in many of the same activities that are available in real life. One basic functions of "Second Life" is in forming groups: formal organizations consisting of at least two residents. Members of groups are given titles which correspond to their role within the group which hover above the resident's head. Although the title is always seen by others, it is possible to turn off the player's own title.

      Launch "Second Life" and the resident you wish to play.

      Open the Edit menu for the character.

      Choose the "Groups" option from the menu and scroll to the top of the option.

      Select "None" as your resident's title.

    • 5

      Click the "Activate" button. The resident's group title is now hidden from your view. It will remain in place for other players.
