How to Make a Boy Smarter
For most parents, it's only natural to want their children to be as smart as possible and reach full potential. Improving a boy's intellect is not only beneficial in youth, but will him transition into adulthood as well. In order to increase a boy's cognitive functioning, it's important to stimulate his mind and body in a variety of ways. Implementing some different techniques and following five steps should help most parents maximize their boy's intelligence and make him smarter.

Encourage your boy to engage in plenty of aerobic exercise. Not only does this improve physical health, but studies have shown that aerobic exercise also increases a boy's intelligence. This is mainly stems from an increase of proteins that stimulate the brain which increase cognitive functioning. One of the most effective aerobic exercises is simply running for 20 minutes for three or four days a week.

Provide your boy with plenty of healthy foods while minimizing his consumption of junk foods. Not only is eating an unhealthy diet bad for a child's body, it's also bad for his brain functioning. That's why you should carefully monitor his diet and encourage him to eat lots of fruits and vegetables while limiting things like cookies, potato chips and soda.

Get a musical instrument for your boy to play. Learning how to play music is known to help a child's brain develop and boost his brain power. Not only will this help during his childhood, playing music can also maximize his intelligence as an adult. Pick an instrument that he is interesting in and either get him lessons or provide him with an instructional booklet.

Provide your boy with games that encourage cognitive development. Games like chess, checkers and crossword puzzles work well. In addition, any type of game that involves employing strategies or problem solving skills is effective. Consistently playing these types of games can be fun for a boy while simultaneously expanding his mind.

Encourage your boy to read as much as possible. When a child is exposed to literature, it helps develop his sense of imagination while also increasing his vocabulary skills. Usually making a visit to your local library will yield some books that he is interested in.
