How to Make Avocado Masks

Opt for organic avocados if possible.

When your skin has rough, patchy places it is often dry and in need of some nourishment. You can grab the nearest bottle of deep moisturizing cream or you can choose to make your own chemical free, moisture-rich mask. An avocado face mask can help hydrate your skin and smooth away the dry spots. Best of all, this all-natural face mask is available for you to make with ingredients that are right at your fingertips. Things You'll Need

• Ripe avocado
• Knife
• Bowl
• Fork
• 1/4 cup pure virgin olive oil or 1 tsp. honey
• Water
• Towel
• Toner
• Moisturizer

Instructions

1. Slice an avocado open lengthwise and separate the two halves. Poke the tines of a fork into the seed and dislodge it from the meat of the avocado.

2. Scoop out the avocado meat into a bowl with a spoon or fork. Mash up the avocado with a fork until it is creamy and lump-free. Add 1/4 cup of pure virgin olive oil or 1 tsp. of honey to the avocado and mix well if desired.

3. Slather the mixture onto your face and neck and let it remain there for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off the mask with warm water and pat your face and neck dry. Follow up with toner and moisturizer.

Tips & Warnings

• Plain avocado is sufficient to make a moisturizing mask. Only add olive oil or honey if you like.

• Leftover mask stored in the refrigerator will darken, but it won't reduce its effectiveness.
