How to Go From GeoHot 3.55 to OFW 3.55
Jailbreaking is a process of hacking or altering the basic operating system firmware (OFW) of your PlayStation 3 (PS3) gaming system. GeoHot 3.55 is a jailbreaking software package that unlocks and modifies your PS3 operating system firmware. To remove the jailbreak software and restore the original version of the operating system requires another hacker-community process. The process of going from GeoHot 3.55 to OFW 3.55 is fairly straightforward.

Download the OFW Official 3.55 PS3 PUP (PS3UPDAT.PUP) file package onto your computer.

Plug a USB storage device into the USB port on your computer and a folder for the drive will automatically appear on your computer desktop.

Right-click inside of the drive folder and select "New Folder." Name the folder "PS3." Right-click inside of the PS3 folder that you just created and select "New Folder" again. Name the next folder "UPDATE."

Drag-and-drop the "PS3UPDAT.PUP" file package into the USB drive folder under the "UPDATE" folder you created, and then remove the drive from your computer.

Press and hold the "Power" button on the PS3 until the system turns on and then off again.

Press and hold the "Power" button again until the console beeps twice, then release the "Power" button. The system will start in Recovery Mode.

Scroll to the "System Update" option in the menu, then plug the USB storage drive into the first USB port on your PS3 gaming console.

Press the "Start" and "Select" buttons on your controller at the same time to start the update process.
