How to Get Approved in DMOZ

DMOZ, the Open Directory Project, is a Web directory that permits user submissions to many different website categories. DMOZ does not accept every website submitted to the directory. Editors go through the submissions for their particular category, choosing which websites meet the DMOZ listing requirements and which do not fit the site's needs.

Instructions

1. Open a Web browser and go to Dmoz.org.

2. Click the category which most closely matches your website. You want to choose the most relevant category possible in order to increase your approval chances with the category editor.

3. Check the other sites listed in this category to ensure your submission has not already been listed.

4. Click "Suggest URL" from the upper-right navigation bar. Type your site's URL in the "site URL" field. Type your site's title and description in the next two fields.

5. Type your email address. Type the Captcha letters. Click "Submit" to submit your website to the category editors.
