How to Format Gmail Conversations
When you first try Gmail, you might be shocked and confused by the way Gmail formats conversations. Rather than keeping individual emails separate, Gmail groups on-topic emails, such as replies and emails with the same subject line, together in a single, multi-sectional list. Although many users find this feature fascinatingly helpful, others find it a nuisance. After considerable deliberation, Gmail now allows you to format email conversations how you prefer.

Log in to your Gmail account.

Click the top right gear icon and select "Mail Settings."

Check "Conversation View Off" in the Conversation View section of the General tab.

Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page to format Gmail conversations in familiar email format.
