How to Make a Hopscotch Rug
Hopscotch, a game beloved by children of all ages, originated during the early Roman Empire as a way to train soldiers. Foot soldier ran the 100-foot course in full armor to prepare to combat. Eventually children began designing their own small hopscotch courses by drawing boxes and lines in the dirt. A custom hopscotch board is perfect for playing indoors on a rainy day. Modern hopscotch boards can be made inexpensively at home with a few select tools. Involve your children in the creation of their own board for a project that will keep them interested for hours.
