How to Raise a Range Tank in "Runescape"
Ranged, or archery, is one of the three major combat skills in the online game "Runescape." The other combat skills include melee and magic. A ranged tank generally refers to a character with a high ranged level and a high defense level. A player with these attributes has an efficient distance attack and is difficult to hit, so a ranged tank can be effective as a player killer and as a monster killer.

Head to the Grand Exchange in Varrock and purchase all necessary equipment including bows, arrows and dragonhide armor. Other appropriate equipment includes food, ranged potions, Karil's armor, crossbows, crossbow bolts, Robin Hood hat, ranging boots and an Amulet of Ranging.

Head to a chicken pen south of Falador or west of Draynor Village. Attack the chickens using the "long range" attack style, which gives ranged and defense experience points. Stay at the chicken coop until your ranged level is 20.

Head to the Barbarian Village just south of Edgeville. Range barbarians there until your ranged level is 40.

Walk under the White Wolf Mountain, which requires the completion of the Fishing Contest quest. Stand among the tables and range the dwarfs until you hit level 50.

Walk to the Combat Training Camp northwest of Ardougne. Range the nine ogres in the cage on the north side of the compound for experience. Remain here until you've reached the desired ranged level.
